Happy 3rd Birthday

Today Elliana turns 3 years old! Yesterday she had her whole day planned out. First, the zoo to ride the carousel and train, then at 3:00 have friends over for cake, finally, steak for dinner. However, this morning she woke up and I asked her if she still wanted to go to the zoo. She said she wanted to go to the mall, not the zoo. So after repeatedly asking her, she kept saying the mall was the place for a birthday girl to have some real fun. So to the mall we headed. It is not the shopping that is the big draw, but the rides. Yes, we played on the rides and then she actually got to see that if you put money in, they move. She chose three to ride for real. Next we headed to the pretzel shop to have a little snack. Elliana was very sad to leave the mall, but nap time was calling her home. Elliana and Andy are both napping now. Elliana is looking forward to her cake with orange writing, orange is the girls favorite color.

Andy is one and half now too. He loves to do whatever Elliana is doing and tries very hard to keep up. They both have their check-ups on Sept. 1, so look for an update then.

No Naps

Elliana was doing great yesterday around nap time so I decide she could stay up and play with friends that were coming over. She did not have any melt downs or whining all afternoon. At about 5:00 she asked for a her blanket and a snack on the couch. I went to work on a few things in the kitchen and when I peaked around the corner Elliana was sound asleep. I tried to wake her to eat dinner, but no such luck.

Today we went swimming and played all morning. When we got home and headed up for a nap Elliana hit a wall and the crying/screaming began. She thought that naps were all done since she didn't have to take one yesterday. So now she is over at the neighbors getting her toenails painted and then going to sleep. At least this is the agreement made 30 minutes ago.

Andy, of course, is napping.

Haircut

Elliana got her first haircut last week. She got about three inches cut off. You can not really tell a difference, but Elliana likes to brush her own her now.
